Mark, I am so totally creeped out from that news artical.

Yesterday, at Marks house, while we were gaming, Mark was browsing his Ipad for local news and told me about something, that I hadn't heard about somehow. This guy was a regular at our Total Confusion convention for years. I mean, I knew him at least 20 years. He was always "one of the guys I knew would show up" and bother me at my window, trying to flirt with me. I am totally, totally creeped out now, I hardly got any sleep.
This guy is beyond sick. Thankfully they caught him and 2 others he was in contact with before anything could happen. Read at your own discretion.

Yes this is pretty old news. I think it popped up in the news recently because authorities have recently released some photos from inside the house. Better yet he was wearing an Iron GM tshirt in his booking photos. At least it wasn't a TotalCon one.

(is this where I make some flippant remark about your spelling of "Article"?)
Seriously though, Jenny had the same reaction last night. Started getting worried that David had gotten too close to this guy and who else might there be, etc. My response is, danger is all around us. Always is, always will be. We do what we can to make ourselves safe, to not present ourselves as victims. But we can't stop living because of 'what if'

I don't know how I missed it originally, as I usually check my computer daily for local news. I was totally stunned when Mark brought up his picture yesterday at gaming, I didn't know how to react.
Edit: So I didn't spell check the word. It must have not underlined it for me or something, or I just ignored it.

Holy cats, you knew that guy?!

That guy was apparently in talks with OTHER sicko pedo-cannibals online...
(I read & watch more true crime stuff than probably is healthy)

The important question is did he invite you for lunch? If not, he is just another weirdo who crossed your path. As for David at a con, he has a parent present who is more aware than most about who is at the table with him and which games he is participating in. (and that guy is running mouseguard for kids which can't be good).

Actually, the silver lining on all this is, he's wearing an Iron GM t-shirt (you know those sexist jackasses who felt the irresistible need to infringe on every other GM at the con with their loudspeakers?). I told Jenny today I have this terribad idea to have t-shirts printed up for HoA folks saying "Heroes of Altamira Year 4 - And still totally cannibalistic pedophile free!"

Nope, never bought me lunch, thank goodness, but he did hang around my work window a lot.
Mark, I'd be careful about that, it could backfire someday, and I don't want that to happen, EVER! Bad enough having it happened in our con game territory as it is.

Well doing that would make me as big (or perhaps bigger) a jerk than they were for their infantile responses to my (and many others) complaints. So, long and the short of it, NO I wouldn't actually do it, but thinking about it gives me an evil little chuckle.

Yeah, and we don't want to be doing background checks to prove it. I mean, I have nothing to hide...honest. Plus there was the whole year one alejandro thing...

I'm profiled enough...
Seriously, as I mentioned earlier, I read a LOT of true crime. And sometimes, I bring those books with me on long trips. And then my luggage gets pulled aside for a more thorough search...

He liked playing a Minotaur. He would role play with the other party member asking if he could eat their characters if they fell in battle. He did start eating the leg of a charater who the dm ruled went to negative hit points once. Which was extra awkward when player belated realized he had forgoten a defense and was't actually unconscious. He would also threaten to eat NPCs if they didn't cooperate with him.

The sad/horrifying thing is, this is the second case of pedo-cannibals I've read about in Massachusetts...

This is what happens when there is only one krispy kreme in the region. Better restaurants lead to fewer cannibals.

I thought you said Krispy Kreemes brought urban blight.

Well, you can deal with blight or the guy next door sizing you up for a sandwich. I did not say it was a perfect solution.

So...you're saying more Krispy Kremes in the area leads to more cannibals. Got it.
